Removing a HAVEN Central Air Monitor

If you’re uncomfortable with removing the HAVEN Central Air Monitor we can put you in contact with a local contractor via our Find a Pro feature.

  • Firstly, ensure power to the HAVEN Central Air Monitor is switched to the OFF position. If the device is powered by a dry contact (eg. R & C terminals), this may require powering down your entire furnace or AC system for safety..

    • If you are using a transformer or wall outlet, please ensure this is powered down before removing the CAM.

  • Remove the Central Air Monitor from the faceplate by sliding it towards you/out of the duct. You may feel a slight click which is fine, this is just the interlock releasing the CAM.

  • Carefully unscrew the terminals on the underside of the CAM to free it up.

    • If the CAM was powered by dry contact or transformer, now is a good time to remove this wiring also.

  • Remove the faceplate by unscrewing the hex head screws. You may find the rubber gaskets also slip out at this time.

  • To ensure good airflow in your system after removing the Central Air Monitor, we suggest that you cover the opening with silver foil tape, not only does this have great adhesive properties, it restores the ductwork appearance.

    • If you don't have silver foil tape, good electrical tape or similar will suffice.

  • Switch your furnace or AC system back on. This is a good time to inspect your ductwork cover up!

  • If you're moving home, or location of the CAM, we recommend gathering all the accessories together for the next installation site (gaskets, screws, etc.).

  • If you're returning the item to us, we’ve got you covered too. We'll supply the labels directly to you and all we ask is that you drop it off at a local FedEx Ship Centre.

    • If you need to raise a return request, we just ask that you fill out our RMA request form.

    • Once approved we will email you return documents or post them to you if necessary.
